5/ The woman begged for help from a police officer while the harassment was occurring. The officer, who is now facing disciplinary proceedings for his conduct, apparently did nothing.

6/ Liberal California is not immune. A report released by the state Attorney General shows that hate crimes surged 17.5 percent between 2016 and 2017. Hate crimes specifically against Hispanics or Latinos increased by 51.7 percent.

7/ An organization @splcenter has labeled as a hate group gathered enough signatures to put a measure on the Oregon ballot that would repeal the state’s sanctuary law, which stops local law enforcement officials from assisting ICE with deportations.
