I was going to go out for dinner somewhere but I think I'm just gonna eat in & send that money to support @sharicedavids

Women are the heart of the #BlueWave and Davis is fighting for a very flippable #KS03 seat.

For blue staters, these are the kinds of races we can impact.

We're all spread thin and all have bills, bills and more bills but we've got one shot to put our best candidates forward and then support their runs.

I'd rather skip a treat tonight than lose my appetite when the results role in on Election Night in Nov.

Maybe we could even make this a thing.

There's a whole lot of stuff we could probably do without in life without feeling major pain.

Skipping Starbucks some morn ain't a life changer but 100,000 $5 donations could truly impact several small races.

Trump is the least important person in the shutdown battle.

Schumer and Pelosi aren’t really battling him - though he very much thinks they are.

That’s the funny part.

He thinks he’s the towering general locked in a war against the leaders of the opposing army...

In reality, Chuck and Nancy are using Trump’s battlefield incompetence to not just win this battle but also break his control of his forces.

Trump is a buffoonish despot but he hasn’t truly lost a battle of wills with Democrats decisively.

He hasn’t gotten routed.

Even when Trump hasn’t gotten his way, the cost to individual Republicans has been far less than the cost would have been if they had bucked Trump’s will and invited his wrath.

Trump thinks he’s waging a war of will. He thinks his refusal to yield will ultimately prevail.

Just to take this one step further...

Worth noting that federal prosecutors chose to make public an indictment which has little prosecutorial value on its face (since Veselnitskaya is out of reach).

There’s a method to this madness and it may well be...

1) Shining a spotlight on the Trump Tower meeting about “adoptions”

2) Putting into the public domain evidence that Junior, et al, were indeed meeting with the Kremlin by proxy

3) Providing corroboration of the criminal quid pro quo alluded to in Paul Manafort’s mtg notes

4) Establishing that all attendees fully knew what the Russian objectives were in supporting the Trump Campaign

5) Providing a supporting indictment of the foreign actor in the Trump Tower meeting in advance of Mueller indicting Junior for lying to Congress about the mtg.

1/ Ok. I've had some time to sit with the election results, and I've gotta say: it's pretty indisputable that this was a monster #BlueWave. The Tuesday night hot takes, (my own included), are not aging well. At all. The evidence:
2/ It appeared Democrats would gain about 30 House seats and Rs would gain 3-4 Senate seats. Now we're looking at more like 36-40 House seat gains for Dems and Rs with 1-3 Senate seat gains, per @FiveThirtyEight & @CookPolitical.
3/ Democratic House gains keep growing through Friday as large suburban and urban ballots are counted, and Dems have now made the largest gains in the House since Watergate (40 years). The most favorable Senate map for Republicans in 100 years is pulling in a typical reshuffling.

I did something similar to this 5 years ago, in anticipation of EC & @theroots' Wise Up Ghost LP, on tumblr.

(You can still find all those posts if you look, although a lot of the YouTube links etc are now dead ends. It was 40 Days Of EC then, so for 2018 I'm upping it to 45.)
Mostly I will be going chronologically from the early years right up to the present, but it feels right to start out with Costello's 2002 song, "45."

I can only do this for so long anymore.

We have only 93 days until midterms.

I'm going to go ruin a bunch of people's Saturday by calling them and asking them to do their civil duty on #November6th and help usher in a giant #BlueWave.

Stop what you're doing and call your sister who might be on the fence. Get her off of it.

Educate you your neighbor who is buying into this Trump's "economic revitalization" fiction. Obama did better. Way better.

gonna go out on a limb and say its never a good idea for the government to do mass dna testing. never. never ever a good idea. especially of people who may be undocumented.
we've been confirming parentage of undocumented families via birth certificate for years. there are ways to do this without giving the government all your genetic information.
