i sure hope business media finds ways to cover the tech platforms decisions to clean up their sites that focuses more on how they’re trying to fix something horrendously broken instead of just big red downward pointing arrows and frantic yelling about losses
like, obviously massive, historic losses for shareholders is a newsworthy event but covering this crucially important tech reckoning from a pure capitalism perspective feels like covering politics as a horse race rather instead of how lawmakers affect the lives of citizens
anyhow! there’s a way to serve up financial news while also framing why depriortizing growth/scale matters for the health of the entire world. hope outlets do that!
because, for all the shit they give the press, the people making big decisions at these hugely consequential companies are reading the way that outlets report on the health of their businesses. the way it’s covered matters!
