A lot of people I follow spend more than a little time bagging on Tom Nichols for one reason or another but let me tell you something: The man spends about a third of his Twitter time bagging on people for not wearing shoes on airplanes.
Quite aside from my agreement, this indicates a decent level of mental health vis a vis Twitter. It's not TRUMP IS AWFUL 24/7 or TRUMPERS SUCK ALWAYS AND FOREVER. His political engagement is what it is, but I don't have to see his avatar and know the Dorito Lord will be involved.
I basically like Tom, even though I disagree in more than a few places, because he's NOT TALKING ABOUT THE SAME BLEEPING THING ALL THE TIME.

This platform was more fun while we were hitting politics but also sports even when non-critical games were on, and also books and video games and history and weird stuff.
Trump's the President of the United States, ok? I get it. I'm not thrilled. I can never tell when I'm going to say, "Wow, the blind squirrel really found the nut," and when I'm going to say, "The dumba** managed to gnaw into dynamite." It's tiring AT BEST. I really get it.
Talk about your kids. Talk about your faith. Talk about house repairs or a book you read or those weird shoes everyone wore like crazy but now everyone hates or a video game or this amazing new cheese you discovered or getting drunk or whatever.
Talk about politics, too, because you're going to anyway and I'm not here to tell you how to run your Twitter feed; I'm just begging you to be the interesting people I either follow or enjoy talking to on this microblogging platform.
