Jim Wells has questioned the impartiality of a Belfast street bench that decided to adorn itself as a pride flag for Belfast Pride. The bench tweeted its participation in the event which caught the eye of the South Down MLA who has ...
... been doing lots of internet research on LGBTQs. Jim asked whether the bench now intends to take part in next year's Twelfth of July parades. He added "As a bench it has to be totally impartial and neutral, and not to be seen to be involved in any political campaign"
Jim continued on "Had there been devolution up and running there would have been real questions asked in the assembly"
A spokeswoman for the bench said: "The participation by the bench in the parade in no way undermines the political impartiality of the bench."
