Language doesn’t matter? This “we” is based on generations of white people being synonymous with “American.” Language dictates reality, and the language we’ve been using was designed for hierarchy and subjugation.
The White experience is not the default one for an American life, although politically it’s been framed in that manner in order to make outliers out of others and to make their legitimate problems otherwise unreasonable.
Trumpism is about maintaining a society dictated by and serving white people. The reality they’re seeking is a reality authored by generations of linguistic and legal decisions, and the challenge against them is what they’re fighting.
