As forecast the UK Government has committed to following a significant part of single market rules after Brexit as part of the backstop and commitments to Northern Ireland (doc - assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/upl…)
Although the Government paper says this will be "only a small fraction of EU rules", in fact there are nearly 70 pages of the Withdrawal Agreement simply listing the regulations Northern Ireland will have to follow under the backstop (example page below)
In case you are missing the significance, the UK Government has confirmed that the whole country will follow EEA / single market disciplines without any representation until a new deal can be agreed.

Brexit is testing Parliamentary procedure. The Government does not command a majority.

Might as well break protocol further, it is time for a Parliamentary committee to take control of the Brexit process.
Yes, I can think of many reasons why this won't work, but nothing that would work better. We're going to be stuck in Parliamentary bickering for weeks unless something new is done.

Most important point, which cannot be emphasised enough - the Withdrawal Agreement is primarily concerned with the terms of the divorce, e.g. financial, citizenship, and not the future (though the Irish backstop complicates this) 2/
Thus any statement a Minister makes about the future relationship being secured (such as that below from the Gov's 40 reasons to back the Brexit deal) is false. The political declaration setting out the future relationship is not binding. 3/

This thread follows on from article by @shippersunbound in the Sunday Times illustrating of the difficulties that @LabourAgainstAS have had with Labour's compliance unit in even raising complaints, in this case about Michael Calderbank.

Calderbank was reported as long ago as 2016 by LAAS, who were told "we have been unable to identify the individual as a member of the Party".
Evidently they don't read Labour Briefing, the LRC website or Alex Nunns book, which all list him as CLP secretary Brent Central

Yesterday prior to the @WomensMarchLondon, a group of us stewards were approached by a @BBC producer who wanted to put some of us on air. I couldn't go (I didn't bring photo ID), but she asked a me question I've been thinking about ever since.

2/ The question was "Do you think protesting will have any impact on policy?" There's only one answer to that: No. Absent something like a general strike, even a protest 4x as big as yesterday's wouldn’t impact politicians' decision-making, especially those at the very top.
3/ We saw this in 2003 prior to the invasion of Iraq, when London witnessed a march that literally was 4x bigger than yesterday's, along with immense protests throughout the US (I attended one in Chicago).

3. There is some evidence of this in the case of the Austrian Freedom Party, and also the Italian Northern League. Important point: It's not illegal, or not necessarily. It doesn't break laws on foreign funding for political parties, if they exist
