Screenshotting this tweet (which got him kicked out of Caesars/Defcon) for two reasons. The first is that it's a prime example how others misunderstand our language. The FBI/DoJ should include this in their training, that in no way did this imply either crime or harm.
The tweet isn't about what he'd do, but the hypothetical, asserting hackers would rather spend the effort going after rich BlackHat attendees (who spent ~$3k for their tickets) vs. poor DEF CON attendees (~$300 a ticket).
We often speak in such hypothetical language, which is why we interpret the comments by those like Auernheimer, Swatz, or Hutchins differently in their chat logs than how the police insist those comments should be interpreted.
The other point I want to make is how yet against social media loses context. It's a private tweet, for this community, who understand the implicit context. It's not a tweet for the general public, who don't get the context.
People need to stop getting fired, or kicked out of venues, or arrested, or any of that simply because a tweet. That includes when, for political reasons, you really really hate that person and deliberately take their tweets out of context.
