Also: if you didn't know John David Washington was Denzel's son, you'd know it pretty quickly anyway. There's a distinctive cadence, especially in some of the small talk, for which he is a clear and proud inheritor.
And I was worried towards the end that the Patented Spike Lee Dolly Shot I was so looking forward to wasn't actually in the movie. Don't worry, friends: it's there. Be patient.
