Republicans announced #SCOTUS hearings will begin on Sept 4th. Let’s recap how the Senate GOP’s blatant and historic obstruction of Judge Kavanaugh's record is denying both the Senate & the American people access to critical information about a potential Supreme Court justice.
The GOP is deliberately withholding the entire record of Judge Kavanaugh’s 3 years as Staff Secretary– the most senior position he held in the Bush Admin & a job Kavanaugh himself said was “formative” & “instructive” as preparation for being a judge
Meanwhile, the small % of docs the Judiciary Committee will get to see are being pre-screened by a GOP political operative who worked for Kavanaugh in the Bush admin and currently represents Steve Bannon, Reince Priebus and Don McGahn.

Even worse, at the moment, 1/3 of those documents are being deemed as “committee confidential” by GOP & have not been released for review by the full Senate or the public, stacking an additional layer of secrecy on top of multiple layers of existing secrecy.

Yesterday, President Trump’s lawyer declared that President Trump may decide not to comply with a subpoena, issued by the Special Counsel and said that they are prepared to take that fight all the way to the SCOTUS.
Before we elevate someone who may have to rule on the issue of Presidential subpoenas to a lifetime appointment on the highest Court in the land,don’t the Senate & American ppl deserve to know what the nom thinks & may have already said on this critical issue? #WhatAreTheyHiding?
The GOP obstruction of Kavanaugh’s records is flat-out wrong. The American people deserve a methodical & thorough examination of a nom who will wield immense influence over their lives for generations.
