In case you were wondering what's going on with UKIP lately, here's a quick roundup of how things stand...

You might remember a month or two ago, in a fairly coordinated fashion, right-wing YouTubers/pundits/shitposters Paul Joseph Watson, Markus Meechan, Carl Benjamin and Milo Yiannopolous went and joined UKIP - and made videos about it.

After a flurry of videos, things went pretty quiet, although PJW did post a picture of him, Carl, UKIP head Gerard Batten and others in what was described as a planning session...

So, what is their masterplan? How do Paul, Markus, Carl and company plan to make their move towards unlimited power?

Enter... War Plan Purple!

So what is War Plan Purple?

Allow me to digress here. The name is a reference to the contingency plans the US had for various conflicts in the thirties - ie. War with Mexico, etc.

War Plan Purple, I believe, dealt with a conflict in South America.

'War Plan Purple' takes the playbook that groups like Generation Identity have had success with, and combines FB groups, Discords and other communities, slick graphic design and a realignment of UKIP's platform to bring in young internet savvy folks.

You'll note that there's a lot of talk of 'The Liberalists' in with the communities and discussion groups - a smaller, allied group. Expect UKIP to eat them whole and merge at some point in the near future. Some kind of name change at least.

It's all quite clever, in some respects. They might even increase their vote share. Don't think that's the point though - again, it's a grift, and a means to launder Far Right ideas like 'fighting cultural Marxism', an old fave. (Pic via Mark Collett)

Couple of things though - they're leaning hard on Carl Benjamin to be their public face, but the dude has a lot of sticks he's made all on his own to beat him. Check out his RationalWiki entry. rationalwiki.org/wiki/Sargon_of…

They also can't leave the pop culture references alone, which sometimes can be fun. Then again, there's stuff like this...

'Service Guarantees Citizenship' comes from Robert Heinlein's 'Starship Troopers', a dark satire of fascistic militarism.

Banter? Sinister? You decide!

So, basically, UKIP's turned into a silly little right-wing meme factory, social club and crowdfunding operation.

Profitable for the star YTer recruits, profitable for what's left of the party, a good little terrarium for right-wing networking.

Worth keeping an eye on though.

If anybody wants to go infiltrate their little clubhouses, be my guest - I'd love to see what you can find. Place is probably crawling with sockpuppets anyway.
