A general election in December, though. Who the fuck wants that?

If there's going to be an election, it'll have to be this year.
Tory leadership contest September 4th, first day back.. Would they even be able to get it done before party conference?
But if they don't, they're looking at an election in December

Stupid mess they've got themselves into. I told you they'd leave it too late.
Theresa May resigns today, right now, they can just about get a new leader in time for the party conference, but it's still an election in November.

Theresa May has to resign today. If she doesn't they won't have a new leader for when parliament comes back. Then they'll have to wait till after conference, which means a general election in December which the Tories will never win.

November, you can still save your country, by march, you can't. And what a stupid situation to have got themselves into.

So if they want it in November, they'll have to call it early October, which means getting a new leader during conference season, which means sacking Theresa May today.
