Mike Malone, the consultant who recommended closing voting precincts in Randolph County, Georgia "told residents that [GOP Gubernatorial candidate Kemp] recommended precinct consolidation."
Of course, he told the @ajc "that he didn’t recall hearing the [former] secretary of state say that." Notice the @ajc reporter doesn't ID Kemp as GOP candidate in this graph.

Kemp has not criticized Malone's "handiwork in 10 other counties with similarly diverse demographics. "

While Kemp was SOS, 40,000 voter registrations from three counties in Georgia "went missing." When someone registers to vote in GA, her application is checked against the state driver’s license system and a social security database.
"If neither of these systems yields a match, the registration application goes on a pending list" and the person is SUPPOSED to get a letter. After 30 days, the application gets trashed.

"County officials must also ping the state Department of Corrections database, which may lag by up to several months in its information."

Alexander Lakocy moved to Atlanta on Aug. 5 for graduate school. He filed out paperwork the next day as part of a voter registration drive. He called Fulton County the end of October and "discovered he’d been flagged as 'pending.'

"State law also requires first-time Georgia voters such as Lakocy to show identification when they first cast a ballot here — which might be hard since, he said, a county representative suggested she mail him a form so he could request an absentee ballot."
In 2014, Georgia had 40,000 FEWER voters than in the prior election, although state population continued to grow. Democrats estimated that there were 800,000 potential but unregistered voters in 2014.

Many of those 40K potential voters didn't get registered until after the November election. Diamond Walton, 18, registered in August. She didn't get anything from Kemp until the last week in October. WTH?

It's not just Kemp; it's the GOP, which is worried about the fact that white voters are a shrinking percentage of the voting population.
In 2017, Kemp settled a lawsuit " so that the state would no longer reject applications that didn’t exactly match personal identification information, an issue that affected 34,874 registration applications from 2013 to 2016."
And then the GOP-run legislature (Georgia General Assembly) reinstated “exact match” for voter registrations, also in 2017.
