I wanted to argue but he opened my eyes to reality. How can you give birth to a child and throw him in the street all in the name of education.

A small boy from the age of 4 is riped off parental love.

He leaves home in the search of education but ends up an orphan.

He begs to eat, begs to sleep, begs to wear cloth, begs for survival.

He is hardened at a young age because he needs to be strong to survive.

This boy lacks parental or family love, as far as he is concerned he dosen't even have a family.

Because he is human, he craves for love, begs for love, he will even want to buy love but nobody is willing to give or sell. And then suddenly, people come with food, money, clothes, love, and affection.

All he needs to do is collect gun and kill in return for these favours.

It will be hard for him to resist such temptation. That's why there is a thin line between Almajiri and Boko haram. We the Northerners need to sit up, come together, talk, engage, tackle this big fat cancer before it consumes us all. We can do it if we want.

I have a documented proposal on how we can solve this problem.

It's a very hard one tho, but it's worth it.

We can't save all Almajiris but if we can just save one boy, just one boy off the street then humanity will bear us witness that we've tried in our little way.
