Under GDPR, inferred data is personal data, so EU Snapchat users would have a right to know how their emotions are being scored from their selfies if they request the data. No such right in the USA.
Seems like new California data privacy bill would require Snapchat to disclose emotional data on California residents even with the loopholes getting banged out by lobbyists. IANAL wired.com/story/californ…
Key difference between Snapchat building emotional models and Cambridge Analytica building psychographic models is you sign up for Snapchat. New Calif. bill loopholes shield the data models built on us that we don’t sign up for. Shambolic, really.
