Polite Reminder. Here are some golden rules/ etiquette of Whats App Chat Groups that will help you/ someone on your TL.
You can leave a whats app group without fear. No need to mute the group or fast, & pray for twitter to introduce a leave silently feature. Existing doesn't necessarily mean you are no longer friends.
As an admin, please seek permission from someone/ people before you add them to a group. Ask them first, then if they say it’s ok, add them. If they say no, please don't catch feelings. It is what it is.
Please verify before sharing. Don’t rush to post in the group something you saw on social media and pass it into the group chat. Lots of fake news going around.
Do not add random people to the group without seeking permission from the admin/ letting the rest know of your intended addition/ mission.
Don’t be that Kenyan who sends a thousand and one videos that are really not relevant to the group. You know in this Muigai’s economy, data is expensive my friends.
Sometimes just use the reply function so your replies don’t get lost in a big chat. It helps also track down a response in future.
When it comes to arguments, learn to be civil. No need to fight and air dirty laundry in the group hence making everyone uncomfortable. No need for popcorn moments.
Those forwarded Good morning messages are no longer fun to read/ wake up to, imagine. Just send a personalized morning message in the group. Its OK.
Look, rarely do Exs end things amicably so please dont suffer in silence while in a group with your Ex. Just exit to avoid awkward moments and situation.
KRA wont tax you less for being in over 30 whats app groups. No need to be in many groups and most are muted/ inactive. Be kind to yourself.
Don’t take a screen shot of a personal confession on one group and post it in another group mocking the person in another forum. People open up in chats and hope it remains in that chat group.

Know your group members. Know who you are with in a group. Dont be in a group with strangers. At the very least, be aware of those in your group by name and occupation.
