Been trying to read the writings of several "suspects" to figure out which "senior official in the Trump administration" wrote this op-ed.

My dad agrees w Bill Kristol and thinks that it's Kevin Hassett, Trump's chief economist, who penned the NYT op-ed. The op-ed makes references to fiscal policies and what not.

Another suspect is Nick Ayers, Pence's chief of staff, b/c of Ayers's proximity to Pence & use of the word "lodestar." However, according to National Review last yr, Ayers wanted to purge Republicans unsupportive of Trump's agenda: nationalreview.com/2017/10/mike-p…

Trump didn't know the difference btwn Hezbollah + Hamas. He probably still doesn't. He doesn't listen to the national security team he himself assembled. He surrounds himself w generals to reassure ppl, but he doesn't listen to them & they quit in protest

Told Comey to "let Flynn go." Fired Comey & went on national tv to admit that it was over the Russia investigation. Went on Twitter to attack investigators. Fired McCabe. Attacked Sessions for recusing & eventually pushed him out. Installed attacker of the investigation as AG.
Whitaker won't recuse like Sessions did, despite obvious appearance of conflict of interest.

2. Anon: Given the instability many witnessed, there were early whispers within the cabinet of invoking the 25th Amendment, which would start a complex process for removing the president.
3. Anon: But no one wanted to precipitate a constitutional crisis. So we will do what we can to steer the administration in the right direction until—one way or another—it’s over.

1) It concedes Trump's accomplishments are big. Early in the piece, the author admits that the Trump administration has had significant success on the issues most important to American voters.
2) Its complaints are small. Why does the author object to Trump? The president is not a true philosophical conservative. The author may view that as a devastating critique, but to others it will seem like style points and inside baseball.

Whichever "senior official in the Trump administration" wrote that NYTimes op-ed perfectly calibrated it to push Trump even further into madness. Soon he will purge his advisors, ramp up his war on the deep state, and accelerate his showdown with the liberal press.
Now zoom out. Today, at the behest of this same official, Trump defended Pope Francis' handling of the sex abuse crisis. Why? Because in 2023, he'll need the Holy Father's help to suspend elections and be crowned by Francis the first Catholic Monarch of America.
The day after the coronation, Trump falls ill and dies. Poison? No one knows. Francis decrees that the crown shall fall to Trump's oldest Catholic son, Barron, with his mother, Melania, serving as Queen Regent.
