This is a recent text message someone provided to me.
You receive a message from "Apple" to your recovery phone. In your native language, perfectly spelled. This looks legit, and you're happy because you might have a chance to get back your lost phone, right?
Domain name looks like an official icloud service, you know how this ends for most people. This is a very simple #phishing, yet very effective.
So here are my few tips I'd recommend for the average user:
1) Do not trust the SMS Caller ID, it can be spoofed easily
2) If you have to check the "Locate my iPhone" feature, go to apple.com or icloud.com directly. Do not click on links provided to you
They can even interact with you using iMessage, using an apparent Apple support staff e-mail. Deadly. 😳

Literally one of the first accounts popping up when looking at #GiletsJaunes is some kind of bot pushing RT propaganda, account created less than a month ago. There are plenty of these "agitator accounts" out there trying to amplify the protests from outside France

The whole process is done in secrecy, there are no publicly available statistics about the vulnerabilities being kept
These are intelligence agencies, they know how disinformation works and how to keep information confidential. There is zero guarantee all vulnerabilities will go through VEP. Some of them might be compartmentalized to upper classification and only known to a few.

Today, I found out that some young people I know (ages 15 and 16) are in 'school' Whatsapp groups with teachers.

I salute the dedication of teachers who go beyond, but I think this a very dangerous breach of privacy / work-play balance, and must be stopped.

Here's why: #Thread
1) You cannot join a Whatsapp group without revealing your phone number. This is an immediate risk for minors - the room for abuse is so large I'm stunned that schools allow this. Pedophilia, sexual predation, grooming - all possible when adults have kids' phone numbers.
2) There is also risk of harassment by other kids. I remember my friends in high school (esp girls) who kept phone numbers very private, because they didn't want to be constantly bombarded.

When a teacher makes you join, there's no opt out. Everyone gets your phone number.
