Steve Baker says 80 Tory MPs will vote down the Chequers plan. Except... they won't actually be voting on Chequers.
The future relationship section will be vague guff. They'll be voting on divorce bill, citizens' rights, Irish backstop.And there I think ERG loonies will huff and puff and then eventually support the government.
I can imagine DUP voting against it - I kinda presume they will. But then I presume at least a handful of Labour MPs will vote for it, no matter what. That's a tight vote right there.
But whatever else it is, it isn't a vote on Chequers. Chequers is just a fairy story to pretend there is a plan to stop a border in the Irish Sea.
However, quick caveat to this: The Brexiters are off their tits. They could quite easily tip everything over into apocalypse because they are unable to grasp the in-built strategic advantage they possess.
