Two Presidents died on this day. Modest men from the Midwest, each had been VP for just a few months before ascending to the top job. Harry Truman, the 33d POTUS (1945-53), died in 1972; Gerald Ford, the 38th (1974-77) in 2006

The last few weeks have really underlined just how quickly the situation on the ground can change. Although the immediate disaster may have been averted, we should take this as a reminder to always be as organised and prepared as possible.
The US intervention has been nice, and it's allowed the liberation of North and East Syria to go much faster. That's saved countless lives. But the US was always an unreliable ally, and the current administration has never had a consistent or coherent policy on Syria.

When you build a model in SBVS, is the predictor really generalizing? High correlation does not imply causation. We want to distinguish between patterns in the data we want to learn (causal patterns) and those we don't want to learn (non-causal).
A non-causal example would be one based entirely on the molecular weight.

In a democracy, voters should know something about the person they are voting for and what they believe in.

In many cases, voters will look at what party a candidate is standing for – and that will inform their choice.
So when a candidate stands under the banner of a party, yet disagrees with a key policy of that party, I believe that he (in this case) should make that disagreement clear.

That way, voters can decide whether they still want to vote for him.
