In the complete set of documents of Declaration of Indian Independence, it is said that Church is not subservient to constitution of India.

Pastors & missionaries can do whatever they want, they cannot be tried under Indian law
They are answerable only to vatican/anglican church

Prior to 1813 church was not supported by East India company although they were in control of great parts of India. Evangelical activities were resisted by company officials.

British parliament started seeing unprecedented activity supporting evangelical work in India

By 1826 laws were enacted by British parliament to support missionary activity in India. EIC had to support them financially too. Calcutta has the dubious distinction of hosting the first bishop in India

By 1857 when EIC control was set aside

British Raj started more laws were enacted by british parliament to support evangelical activities. Many of those same laws are still prevalent as IPC & Indian laws.

Indian taxes were used to build churches & for conversion. So we paid to get screwed by church

The starting of medical education in India to support European/british doctors by making Apothecaries out of Indians was the best plan of british parliament to usher in the concept of brown sahib

These Apothecaries usually married to white nurses were ancestors of Anglo Indians

As sepoys (term I use for colonized minds, converted churchis & stupid Seculars) got created at hectic pace it was found that catholics were bigger number than protestants, there was a furore in british parliament which asked Indian govt to support anglical church activities
