Let's just make this a thread about what I've learnt from @asanwal :
1/ Catch your reader's eye. A small increase in open rate is significant at scale (more $$).
2/ Look at the cadence of your conversation. This newsletter mixes insights and conversation in the best way.

3/ Don't bullshit. Honesty shows and at every stage of the newsletter's evolution (from daily to less frequency, to moving stuff behind paywalls) they've been upfront about the reasoning behind it. Persuasive because you give people a valid reason.
4/ Add some warmth to the conversation. The sign off with 'I love you' will go down in books as a game changer. There's even some articles on the reactions from people on this when cb insights started.
5/ Don't take yourself too seriously. Send it to a friend of you like it, an enemy if you hate it. This is really good stuff.
6/ Consistency and compounding are key to success. Coming up with catchy headlines, great content and bad data viz with such consistency is crazy.
Also, trivia: Anand's dad owned a company in Nasik of all places where I live. Nice random connection.
