Trump—who faces 20+ allegations of sexual harassment/assault—is refusing to order the FBI to investigate an allegation of attempted rape, though he could issue an order now and such orders have been issued before. GOP Senators are covering for him by putting the onus on Dr. Ford.
2/ So GOP Senators—including female senators—are taking the *extraordinary* position that law enforcement *doesn't* need to investigate a claim of attempted rape and doing so *just* to cover for a serial sexual assailant (Trump). Then they're *blaming* Dr. Ford for the situation.
3/ We *must not gloss over* what's happening here: 11 men, in secret consultation with a self-admitted serial sexual assailant, are telling a possible rape victim she has under a week to report to them—sans investigation, though there are witnesses to be interviewed—or she's SOL.
4/ And these 12 men—11 senators and 1 self-admitted serial sexual assailant—*know* there's a witness (Mark Judge) of *questionable credibility*who's evading an FBI interview in which (if he lies) he can be charged with a crime. Yet they're doing all they can to *aid* his evasion.
5/ And *one month* after these 12 men—11 senators and 1 serial sexual assailant—railroad a possible rape victim and help a possible co-conspirator evade an interview by law enforcement, they'll be coming to YOUR TOWN to ask for the votes of FEMALE VOTERS because THEY REALLY CARE.
6/ This is a really *sick* situation. There's no rush to vote on Kavanaugh—yet a self-admitted serial sexual assailant is running a con on America in which he gets senators to *refuse to investigate a rape allegation* simply by refusing to *do his job* and order an investigation.
7/ All Sasse or Flake have to say is NO we won't let a serial sexual assailant secretly dictate the terms of an attempted rape investigation; NO we won't pretend there's a rush to vote; NO we won't *pretend* a possible attempted rape victim has somehow acted inappropriately here.
8/ Trump corrupts everything he touches, and every Republican in D.C. sees that. They are *choosing* to be corrupted; they are *choosing* to let this disgusting person write *their* legacies; they have *no* difficulty determining what's right and they are *choosing* not to do it.
9/ Dr. Ford said she would talk to the Senate; she's *merely* asking for proper procedures to be followed. Meanwhile, Mark Judge, Kavanaugh's supposed "corroborating witness," is suspiciously unwilling to speak in *any* setting in which lying would be a federal crime. Why? Guess.
10/ I don't know what happened here. Nor does the FBI. Nor do the senators. Yet even so, most of Judiciary's GOP members have already made up their mind about what happened and a GOP POTUS won't order an investigation. And all of them blame *Dr. Ford* for *their* failures to act.
