@wilfield71 @TheCyclingScot @SusanneLowe17 @JeremyVineOn5 Insurance payouts would be so minimal that 99.95% of the premium would go on admin - that's why insurers bundle cyclist 3rd cover for free in house contents cover - cos it costs them nowt. For reg numbers you'd need a bureaucracy the size of the DVLA - enormous cost, no benefit.

I don't want the motor's killing & injuring power; I don't want the motor's speed; i don't want the motor's congestion & pollution capabilities. I don't want equality with motors, thank you.

Bikes are cheap for people, esp less well off, & for the country (& could save NHS & social care budgets billions), are healthy (physically & mentally), don't cause any pollution & no congestion. Everything motors aren't.

We should not let cruddy car-bound old adults who hate the non car-bound & hate the young, to set policy as their policy is doing untold damage. Instead we must urgently do all we can to enable cycling.
