To be clear, Justice Kennedy negotiated his retirement, insisting on naming his replacement: Brett Kavanaugh. After another former Kennedy clerk, Neil Gorsuch was put on the Supreme Court.

This is not right. This is how white supremacy and the patriarchy roll on.
If the nearly all white, all male Supreme Court get to handpick their replacements, this isn't a lifetime appointment, it is in perpetuity.
These men went the same schools, all the way from Georgetown Prep to Yale. They clerked for the same powerful men. Yes, Neil Gorsuch also went to Georgetown Prep. There is an elite ruling class in this country and they are well positioned on the Supreme Court.
As someone pointed out on Twitter the other day, when Sotomayer was getting confirmed, everyone talked endlessly about how her background and upbringing would shape her decisions. Why is this never discussed about Gorsuch? Kavanaugh?
Did Justice Kennedy really not know any women? Any people of color who might better balance the power on the Supreme Court?
