i've always been adidas so i don't have much to think about on this one
(if i'd always been nike i doubt i'd think much or change either, but)
we wear athleticwear for, or to signal participation in, athletics. as such we expect athleticwear brands to promote an image of performance and athleticism
this is lifestyle brand adverts 101. nike's image is not pure athletics now
and we grew up on YT. anyone with YT can see what cops are up to. this whole thing makes no goddamn sense:
2) kaep picked kneeling (vs standing silent) w/ help from mil friends, to convey respect while delivering the msg
so this situation is perplexing, inasmuch as we *cannot into* why a 2-week topic at most remains atop the zeitgeist, unsolved, no consensus, TWENTY-SIX MONTHS AND COUNTING
football is stupider than ever and can no longer be casually enjoyed d/t metastasis of millennial political cancer (untreatable & terminal fyi)
shoe & pizza companies are expending effort and $ on... things that aren't shoe and pizza 改善 (kaizen)
should you determine your purpose is [x activism] instead of shoe or pizza nirvana, great. proceed with deliberate action
- kaep's squandering his baller talents while also being an ineffective activist at best, if not actually worsening shit on net
- nike. tired of writing about this so extrapolate
- same applies to NFL but even worse tbh, riding the fence so hard there's streakmarks
day 1 - kaep kneels
day 2 - NFL talks to him, gets story incl. details from above
day 3 - NFL meeting. realizes surefire way NFL wins is by orchestrating a 3-way win. actually, huge $$$ on this route
hope this evolves in a favorable direction. cross your fingers that on avg gen Z bosses can supply millennials w/ sufficient "self-actualizing" busywork that they don't wreck anything big
