TRUST Thread

When you don’t know how to Trust, your relationships will be shallow and conflicted – with yourself more than anyone.

No-one is exempt from the inner work.
1. When you trust someone, make that a conscious decision, not trust by implication. Know what value that person brings to your life.

Take responsibility for your cognitive investment. Is it worth it?
2. To trust is to expose yourself to betrayal, by definition.

Be clear about how you’re going to deal with a possible betrayal, emotionally and otherwise. Imagine the best, but be prepared for the worst.

Know your lines in the sand.
3. Everyone is different. One can have great judgement about certain things and terrible on others.

Avoid trusting a person “in general”. Be specific about what you trust someone on and what you don't.

In relationships, the don'ts often are more important than the do's.
4. Be proactive if something goes wrong. Communicate, and without ego-attachment to the outcome.

Understand that covert contracts exist only in your head. Make things explicit when something matters deeply to you.
5. Your trust will command no respect if you're not ready to walk at any time.
Trust isn't about codependency, nor is it something you give once.

You trust people moment to moment, and you can take that trust away at any time. Be deliberate about it.
6. Trust and verify, repeatedly. Understand that there are many fish in the sea – for the fisherman with the right gear.

Work on improving yourself daily, and your trust will only become more valuable.
The daily daemonic emails aren't for everyone, and they will surely unsettle you.
