I never realized before what a tool Susan Collins is.
Yes, she clearly had amassed many “arguments,” but she ignored many more of them. (1)

She created the illusion of “due diligence” by going through many court decisions, etc. But she ignored Kavanaugh’s lies and evasions. And she is much more Democrat-blaming and conspiracy-inclined than I imagined she would be. (2)
I thought she would vote yes, but I never thought she would do so in such blithe ignorance of so many issues and facts and with such partisanship. And I was shocked by her facile dismissal of Christine Ford’s allegations while pretending deep sympathy for her. (3)
I could say more, but I’m not in the mood to dissect arguments. Reason has clearly had no role in this process, despite the “rational” illusion Collins tried to create. In many ways that pretense bothered me more than the rants of her male colleagues.
