To all the misogynistic assholes trolling the new season of #DoctorWho , please fuck the hell right off.

There was always the possibility that the Doctor would come back as a woman.

There have been allusions throughout the series.

The Master already broke the ice.

If you don't think that @HillaryClinton or the people around her, many of whom were brilliant & socially conscious POC, didn't know of or understand the data you're referencing then you know nothing of HRC.

I totally disagree.

I've listened to @HillaryClinton speak passionately about race for three decades.

Race and racism were a central focus of her 2016 campaign.

She didn't speak about it just every once in awhile @amikegreen, she spoke about it every single day of the campaign.

In fact, race and criminal justice was the topic of her first policy paper for the campaign, which she presented in April 2015.

Shane actually originated the role of Rasik in #AnAdventure at a sharing last year and it was an absolute privilege to work with him, Hamza, Amita and Shaheen on this. Proper life moment and they are absolutely cracking.
Also, I talked to Hamza about being in my first play, years ago. It's really bloody lovely to get to work with people you think are brilliant, especially for this kind of story. Can't wait for you all to see what they've done with it.

Before you start baying for my blood, however, I need to make clear that the issue isn't one about gender. In fact, I think Jodie Whittaker is an excellent actor, and wish her best of luck.

For the issue is not, in fact, about gender.
It is, in a roundabout way, about Kevin Costner and Henry Cavill, or rather, Jonathan and Clark Kent/Superman as they portrayed them in 'Man of Steel'. In summary, what a waste.

Some kind people said they missed my Saturday night TARDIS blather yesterday, so I promised I’d rustle summat up today. So here begins a thread about the TARDIS lamp (THRILLING, EH?) in classic #DoctorWho. I’ve not really prepared this one so sorry if it’s a bit shambolic 😅 1/
Okay, so real police boxes - by the time we get to the TARDIS type anyway - had a fresnel lensed lamp with a round, domed cap and 4 vertical struts, standing on a shallow square plinth. I like the word ‘plinth’ 👍 2/
The original 1963 TARDIS prop copied this very faithfully - it’s actually *really* hard to find good pictures of the original lamp, but hopefully you can kind of see what it looked like 👍 3/
