i'm back in the android phone market bullshit again and i basically at this point am constructing one of those Beautiful Mind pins and string charts of the market to try to find the hidden Dark Phone 
huawei and the other chinese vendors seem to produce interesting hardware but with absolutely wrecked software that's not worth trying to fix. fuck samsung. the moto x4 has proven to be too small for my tastes, and their other models lack the featureset i desire
the nexus phones are interesting but actually *getting* a 7 pro or an 8 (the 7.1 and 6.1 are underwhelming to me for multiple reasons) is very difficult in the US, and there are missing GSM bands with uncertain impact on coverage
i find myself attracted to LG? like, the thinq uhhhhh 7? i think? has some interesting shit going on with it? fuck i lost my notes on what was wrong with it
nothing appears to be wrong with it except the price, which is a bit higher than i really want to pay. It has everything else I want.
A weird thing is how often the reviews say "hang on to your $750, because you can get the same thing with a better camera for that much" and i'm like... where? can you link it? but, they do not
and i can't... really... find one that actually hits that particular note and price. they seem to know of things they will not mention.
