If you spent 5 years of your life lying to yourself, how many years would it take for those neuronal systems to change?

You could inhibit them, but the systems would still be there, years, perhaps even decades later.
In the same way you never forget how to ride a bicycle, maybe you never forget how to lie.

How many years would it take to alter yourself?

How much practice would it take?

10 years? 20 years?

I think you never forget.

I think you carry your sins with you always.
I think we scar our brains with the choices we make everyday.

Every day we build a little more of who we will become.

Every day we etch into our neuronal architecture the person we want to become.

Every lie, every moment of weakness—it builds until it becomes who we are.
