For the most part, I don’t understand Nassim Taleb’s arguments against IQ.

All I know is that nobody has actually addressed the points he’s made.
I wonder how many years and classes and books it would take before I could develop an intuition for the statistics and probability he knows.

5 years? 6 years of intense study?
More importantly, I don’t suppose it would be interesting to me, unless it has some utility in my life.

I don’t find puzzles interesting unless they have a purpose.

Bret Weinstein once said every civilization comes to a point where it runs into finite resources.

In that world, the worst in people is brought out and winner-take-all strategies unfold.

Bret says we can look at ancient civilizations as examples for dealing with scarcity.
He points out that the Mayans built pyramids and were an unusually old civilization.

As soon as one was finished, they’d begin work on another layer.

The work never stopped.

In this way, the Mayans funded large-scale, non-zero sum games that fed people and gave them meaning.
Bret says humanity needs a new kind of fourth frontier, to avoid the pathological biological tendencies that activate in times of scarcity.

To give people a sense of abundance.

And I wonder, whether video games will become our Mayan pyramid.

They are limitless digital domains.

Is it legal to buy and sell used prescription glasses?

One of the problems I’m running into with improving my vision back to 20/20:

At some point, I’m going to need *weaker* prescription strength glasses.

That’s a lot of money I don’t want to spend.
Maybe there’s a market for old glasses you don’t need anymore.

Trade one in and get a new one in exchange that’s weaker.

But FDA might get in the way, unfortunately.
It really is a shame I can’t custom order prescription strength glasses on the internet and just “pop” up them into my frames.

Would make reversing myopia much less of a hassle.

(1) Another thing Communists did to us:

- They wanted us to do things only for ourselves, and actually look upon others with animosity.
- They wanted us to destroy the family, replacing it with slavery to the government.
(2) Look at the above two points, and figure out what that does to inheritance.

- They convinced baby boomers that their children should have to suffer, not have any financial means to live or own a home or have children or have a family.
(3) They actually convinced baby boomers that it is BAD to give their children inheritance. BOTH @AandGShow's Joe AND Jack complained as soon as they read it's becoming more common for children to consider it theft when their parents spend too much on unnecessary costly items.

Jungkook’s world was different from what people would call “normal.” When he was a child, around four or five if you want to be semi exact, he learned that he could control the weather around him, but only within a five mile radius, never more. Any type of natural weather you
could think of, Jungkook could create. But with every storm he creates, there’s an equal conscience on his strength based on how strong his storm was. No matter what weather it was he always started his picked weather around 10:30 am and ended it around 8:00 pm.

AU wherein, despite the prejudice people have against hybrids, Jeongguk’s managed to work his way up the ranks and establish a name for himself.
Taehyung, a hybrid w/ a difficult temperament, somehow falls under his care.
The only problem? Jeongguk wants nothing to do with him.
Little context:
More often than not, hybrids are sold as ‘pets’. The handful that do make smth out of themselves still fall victim to some sort of discrimination. Jeongguk’s gone through a lot & is disgusted by it all, so when Taehyung’s given to him, he hates the entire ordeal.
Notes
• Jeongguk has been aged up, so he’s four years older than Taehyung purely to allot for time wherein he becomes successful.
• This may border on nsfw.
• Taehyung will not act as a ‘pet’ or anything similar. He is a person.
