Ok, so what is @TheDigVenturers - a few years ago, a bunch of archaeologists noticed that money was drying up for site digs - and more sites were being unearthed than ever before.

Seeing how well sites like Kickstarter were doing, they came up with a fundraising platform.

Not only is @TheDigVenturers a fundraising platform for digs (which would be cool enough), it's designed so that the people funding can access the site from their phone - seeing finds, data and talking to the archaeologists.

It's the next best thing to being on-site...

What's that, you want to go on a dig? Well, @TheDigVenturers lets you do that! Through their 'Dirty Weekends' and other experiences, supporters can join them & actually - you know - dig up finds! On actual sites!

It IS like being on Time Team! 💀🤠

The first couple of digs that @thedigventures team funded were at the medieval Leiston Abbey in Suffolk, and one of the most famous archaeological sites in England, the ritual Bronze Age site at Flag Fen in Cambridgeshire!

The Flag Fen dig was particularly rich in finds.

Most recently, @thedigventurers have been looking for Bronze & Iron Age treasures at Wittenham Clumps in Oxfordshire & the remnants of the iconic Lindisfarne monastery.

Furthermore, they also do courses for those interested in becoming archaeologists, work with schools and families to engage young people, and sell this t-shirt, which is awesome in the nerdiest possible way.
