This is a very big deal no matter how you slice it. A great day for Poroshenko and Ukrainians who want to cut all ties with Russia. A bad day for the Kremlin and the Moscow Patriarchate. And a very sad day for Orthodoxy, no matter how you feel about the issue of UOC autocephaly
With this Poroshenko killed off the Kremlin's "Russian World" project and cut Moscow off from the Kievan legacy with all that implies. Russia's "Third Rome" fanbase will not take this well. I think Poroshenko has very little sense of the pain that's coming from Moscow now.
