Not all Presidential mistakes are evaluated equally, of course, thanks to bias & blinders. Take, for instance, the illegal & stupid White House idea to secretly ship weaponry to Iranian enemies to further nebulous US policy goals, using National Security Council as cut-out.

I'm talking about the 1994-95 Clinton WH effort that used the NSC to ship tons of weaponry to Iran in Bosnia, straight into the hands of the IRGC, the Pasdaran, Tehran's worst killers.

Mind you this happened AFTER the major scandal involving Reagan's similar screw-up.

MSM paid little attention to Clinton's weapons-to-Iran mistake. There was no Special Counsel appointed. Congress investigated it in 1996-97. The report was incomplete due to classification.../4

But still pretty scathing. It established that somebody, almost certainly the NSC, shipped arms to Iran AGAIN.

You will search in vain for detailed media coverage ca 1996-97. It was reported vaguely and then forgotten. Never got serious traction. Somebody should ask why.

In fact, Clinton's arms-to-Iran scandal turned out to be much worse than Reagan's, since the people IRGC was sharing our weapons with were Sunni jihadists fighting in Bosnia. Including Osama bin Laden and the boys. Well documented.

A year after the Congressional report came out, OBL formed AQ as a united Sunni jihadist front. You know the rest of that story.
