Recently in a social gathering I lost patience with a gentleman who was going on and on cribbing about ‘greedy pandits’ who according to him having made paurohitya a trade and so on were the biggest reason for Hindus downfall. Such ignorant people expect purohita to be a
vItarAga vAnyaprasthin with no financial responsibilities? They don’t realize purohita also has a family to support, children to educate, parents to care for, daughters to marry, sisters houses to send gifts to, and other social responsibilities to address. Ignorantly many people
also incorrectly think dakShiNA to be a charity. dakShiNA is not a charity - it is a “fees” for the purohita. More or less like a fee for other professional like a lawyer or doctor or a CA. Besides, strangely some exhibit a subtle dveSha towards their purohita just by nature!

Mullawood can feature Khusro’s lovesong जिहाले मिस्कीं मकुन् बरंजिश but not a single Hindi lovesong written by Sumitra Nandan Pant. Even Premchand camped in Bollywood for a year but returned dejected. I think Bharatiya Hindi poets/writers dont need developing but promotion and
the Urdu film industry of mullawood applies selective pressure to cull out the Hindi creative content. I only hope the more evolved filmmakers in Telugu, Bangla etc will recognize Hindi also as another of their own language and promote its poets/writers. Saryajit Ray for instance
while primarily doing his work in Bangla, but he did recognize Hindi and did extend his creativity to Hindi as well, by both featuring Hindi in his Bangla works as well as making Hindi films in Calcutta

कर्नाटका के लोग बहुत ही स्वाभिमानी हैं, विशेषकर महानगरों के लोग और प्रवासी कन्नडिगा। हिंदी मे हम इस प्रदेश को कर्नाटक के नाम से पुकारते है परंतु ऐसे विदेशी कन्नड़ बंधु दोनों बातों पर आपत्ति उठा सकते है- पहली, कि हिंदी वाले उनके राज्य का नाम पुकारते ही क्यों हैं?
