A letter to those gripped with a feeling of hopelessness and despair. Unable to shake the thought that we're finished and done. That tyrants have won and nothing we do can ever bring back our democracy of the people. Some have labeled many politicians thugs, or even worse.

1/9
Those in control of our government are not thugs, they're political terrorists. Instead of guns and bombs to make people suffer and walk through life in fear of their shadow, they're using inflammatory rhetoric and bills designed to separate, divide and categorize Americans.

2/9
But, I can say that they're not the first ones to try it. There's a long line of pricks and grifters who've tried to do this to us in the past. Maybe not quite on the scale that we're seeing today, yet the games and deceptions are all too familiar.

3/9
They may not be terrorizing us in a way that makes us afraid to walk down the street, they are making us live in fear of what tomorrow will bring. Afraid that we won't be able to live a life with the possibility of health, wealth and happiness.

4/9
Or to give our children the opportunity for a better life than we've had. A bleak future where the "American dream" is only accessible to a privileged few. This will sound harsh, and I'm really sorry there's no lighter way to say it, they're counting on your hopelessness.

5/9
To feel like nothing can be done. That's they're end game, a dejected and despondent populace is the easiest to control; and makes it much easier for them to maintain their power. Every right and liberty taken away empowers and enables them to attack all our other rights.

6/9
When I lose hope, I rely on my spite. I can be a stubborn bastard when I want to be, and I'm not going to let a bunch of cranky, bitter, old white men get any enjoyment watching me fail. I'll dissent and resist and continue to fight for all of us until I take my last breath.

7/9
As I struggle against this tyranny, whenever I see a friend in this fight faltering, I will reach out my hand to get them on their feet and carry them through if I have to. I'm not leaving anyone behind.

8/9
When you lose hope, never forget your anger at the horrendous actions they've already committed. Use that as a reserve to push you past the low points. And, of course, reach out and lean on the pillars of strength in your life for support. Together we can move mountains.
