I would like to bring your attention to the horrifying realities that lurk beneath the surface of the k-pop industry.

Here are the translations of what was reported in the Korean news media:

There are empirical evidences of abuses on Lee Seukchul's body (bruises on his body & blood stains on his head). He opened a conference and stated that he was physically abused by the company's producer for 4 years +
Lee Seukchul: The reason for abuse wasn't due to a big mistake. When i made a mistake or got lost during practice, the producer would wire my neck with the guitar strings and suffocate me by pulling it.
According to Lee Seukchul, an iron stick that the producer used to beat him is in their practice room. Kim Changhan (CEO of the company) was aware of all this, but he ignored these actions.
When Lee Seukchul tried to disclose the truth, the CEO called him to his office to verbally abuse and black mail him.
Voice recording of what was said to Lee Seukchul by the CEO: after you decide to trust & let us handle things, you should leave it be even if we beat up & kill you...imagine you being on the news (for being abused) as a celebrity. You'll have no place to stand on this land, @$*&
who would want to take someone with problems, you @$*&. Don't make this situation bigger. If you make this issue bigger, your parents will be in more pain, 10 times more than now.
However, the company's CEO claims that he was never a bystander or a perpetrator of physical & verbal abuse. The CEO said that there were only times when he got overly emotional & tried to teach him a lesson.
The company reported that the producer who abused Lee Seukchul left the company.
Personal note: I believe it's necessary to ensure their responsiveness and proscribe such acts that constitute abuses. We must make readily available appropriate rights and remedies for victims of such acts +
People should be protected from violence no matter the distinction of race, skin color, nationality, language, culture, or sexual indentity. We should not turn a blind eye on this issue. This is something we should all work to #ENDviolence.
"We didn't tell anyone about this because we thought our dreams would crumble if we disclosed the truth (just like how the company threatened us)...there were a lot of people who supported our music since when we were young, so I endured with grit"- Lee seukchul
