In an effort to minimize my time online this weekend, I only just saw this disgusting push by our administration to erase acknowledgement of transgender people and trans rights. I am beside myself with anger over this.
Not only does this go against the long-touted Republicanism values of unalienable individual rights, but is wholly against factual, scientific truths in anthropology and human history. The spectrum of identity and sexuality has always been varied and fluid. Historically.
My transgender friends and family, know that I love you and will not stand with such injustice should it be attempted to be enforced. You are valid, and you are loved.

If this world is to survive, it needs a LOT more empathy. We need to stop focusing on the things that make us different, because we all ultimately have far more in common than you think. We need to eschew the cult of personality, instead thinking and researching for ourselves.
Give our neighbor the benefit of the doubt & listen. Exchange ideas & discuss disagreements with respect & intent to learn. Put ourselves in the shoes of others & try to understand their perspectives. Know that deep down, under it all, EVERYONE just wants to be loved & happy. <3
It takes effort, I know, but it’s the most worthwhile endeavor. It will be met with opposition, and don’t let it prevent us from calling bullshit when you need to, but it’s a perspective we cannot afford to lose.

I've come to a realization. It took me a really long time to admit this, because for me, politics is so personal…#trans rights, feminism, racism, anti-capitalism. I wanted to believe that the right—in their own way—had authentic values-based reasons for being politically active
The more I interact with Trump supporters, the more I watch video after video of Trump rallies, the more time I spent in Trump forums trying to "figure it out," the more I realize, this is not about ANY political platform or policy at all.

To them, this is entertainment.
They go to rallies to have fun. They create groups to have fun. They exploit our anxiety & fear of being killed or legally "erased" as queer people or dying of poverty because it's FUNNY to them.

@AdamSerwer nailed it when he said, "The cruelty is the point."

They are SADISTIC.

Contrary to popular belief, there really are more than two genders.Many people with sex chromosome variations don't know they have it, or find out later in life. Some are born with ambiguous genitals, and some look like one gender or another but their chromosomes are different.
