Re : Amari...

I don’t love giving up a 1st rd pick ever, but I am extremely happy with the fact that they deviated from a nearly decade long trend of over valuing their draft picks in relation to active NFL players.
Also this represents a departure from their philosophy of leaning too heavily on only one leg of the roster building stool, which has often left them unbalanced and hanging on for dear life to stay competitive.
This likely means we are most certainly looking towards Dak finishing his contract as the starter, since the most straightforward path to replacing him now resides in OAK, but the easiest excuse for them to use for his struggles is now gone as well.
If the team continues to struggle and fails to contend for the playoffs, there’s a chance they replace JG for 2019 and give a new HC a shot at running an O headlined by Elliott, Cooper, and the OL w/ Dak under center before making a final decision on whether to move on in 2020.
Also, they will be in position to pick from the 2020 QB class which could include Tua Fromm Hebert etc.

And bring him into a team w/ a WR duo of Cooper and Gallup plus Zeke and the OL.
And the WR they just got isn’t a guy who has to come learn how to get open at this level. He’s a 24 yr old 2x pro bowler who was a top 5 pick.

WRs are notoriously tough to evaluate and draft especially early in the draft so going to get a young player who has had success is wise
Who knows how it will work out, but if this is the first of a series of moves with eyes to competing in 2018/2019 and or moving on in 2020 then it’s a positive step.

If it’s a one off move made out of desperation at a position rather than as part of a bigger plan then no so much
