Some day, the story of how brutally Swetnick was treated by media and the Judiciary Committee will come out—e.g., Kavanaugh's lawyer can say, all she likes, that Kavanaugh's high school pals say they didn't go to high school with her, because *she always said she was in college*.
/ I don't think any article should quote Kavanaugh's lawyer saying Swetnick lied about going to Kavanaugh's high school when *she always said the opposite*—i.e., that she did *not* go to his school, did *not* go to parties "with him," did *not* meet him in any way he'd remember.
/ Grassley's referral to DOJ is *obscene*. His claims she changed her story in speaking to MSNBC are *false*. His claims her story wasn't corroborated are *false*—she *was* corroborated, and *under oath*. What Grassley did is lie about what Swetnick said, and then castigate her.
/ @MichaelAvenatti / Swetnick aren't afraid of probes of her claims—for good reason. I've reviewed the affidavits/interviews and (as an attorney) consider *false* any claims she changed her story or that it wasn't corroborated. It was *consistent* with *all* the evidence we had.
/ I've long said Swetnick's anger—and the fact her disclosure was primarily as an eyewitness rather than a victim (which few seemed to understand)—made it harder for some to trust her. But there is nothing in the public record that *ever* warranted anything but our credulity.
