My first voting experience was ASS - A thread:

So i went to go vote today, and my assigned voting area was at the saint charles convention center. Me and my family all went together and they were super excited for me cause it was my first time being able to vote.

When we entered the building there were multiple lanes for (basically) each zip code. We obviously went to the line for our zip code, and my dad went first, my mom second, and me last. Both of them went through fine, but I didn’t.

Now i want to make it very clear. I registered to vote way back in february and kept checking in with my voter registration every few months with my mom just to make sure there weren’t any issues. So there shouldn’t have been... right?

Wrong (apparently) when i handed the two nice old ladies my voter card it didn’t go through right away. Then after a few tries she said alright well it looks like i can’t give you a regular ballot but i can give you a provisional ballot.

So i said “Alright, what is that?” and she said “Well it’s a ballot and you can vote, but it wont count for anything” so I said and I quote:

“No, I’m voting”

obviously she didn’t like that and said “well sir you can either use the provisional ballot or go home.”

So i said “Yeah that’s bullshit. I’m a registered voter, I registered on time, I have a photo ID which isn’t even necessary in the state of missouri, and i’m 18 years old. I’m voting.”

Keep in mind she never gave me a reason why. She just kept saying “It’s not working”

And i wasn’t mad at either of the ladies, they were volunteers, they were doing their best, i get it. But then came this asshole old dickhead who apparently thought he ran the place.

This guy came up to me inches from my face and went “Listen, do you want to vote with the provisional ballot?” I obviously said “No, I want to vote with an actual ballot” so he said “Then go home, you can’t vote” while spraying spit in my face.

(I don’t think the spit was on purpose, it was probably just cause he’s like yoda age and can’t control his own body or apparently temper but it’s cool... it’s only fucking disgusting) :)

So i simply said “Yeah sorry man, i’m not going home until i vote.” and he walked away with the reddest tomato face ever. I don’t know why that man felt the need to get angry but he reeeally didn’t want me to vote apparently.

So anyway, I didn’t want to bother my parents while they voted so i went to the help desk and waited for my turn to get help... WHICH TOOK 2 HOURS... might not sound all that bad, but the line consisted of 4. fucking. people.

Obviously i’m annoyed at this point, i was doing my best not to show it but it had been incredibly frustrating. Finally though it was my turn at the help desk, and she looked me up in the system, said i was there, handed me a ballot, and that was it... took 2 minutes...

But imagine how it would’ve went if i was a pussy though... like if i just went “oh... ok i guess...” when they told me i couldn’t vote... like that’s some major bullshit. I’m worried how many people didn’t vote cause they trusted what that asshole said.

Obviously it could’ve been worse, but come on, that was ridiculous. There was nothing that should’ve prevented me from voting.

It was a bad experience that had no reason to be bad... But I still got to vote :) (literally hours after i got there)
