A lot of ink will be spilled debating what 2018 means, but one thing is clear beyond a shadow of a doubt, Chuck Schumer is an utter failure as Dem Senate leader. Schumer spent the entire past 2 years running the caucus with one goal, protecting red state Dems. His plans failed.
Add in his utterly atrocious track record of candidate recruitment and picking early 'winners' in primaries. Senator Bredesen joins Senators McGinty, Kirkpatrick, Murphy, and Bayh in examples of the political 'genius' of Chuck at work.
Most of the progressive Dem Senators are all obsessed with 2020 now. If at least a few of them would focus their energies on getting their own house in order, the party would be a whole lot better off than a 17 way fight for Iowa's progressive hearts. </rant>
