(2) That's from the story below. I've also read and have yet to confirm, that Rosenstein was taken off the Mueller probe oversight. If true, that's good for Rosenstein IMO. (ICYMI, I respect & admire both Sessions & RR.)

(3) Jeff Sessions is a tough guy. He won't be feeling bitter over this... like me, he focuses on the positive, and knows that his historic achievements on the law and order front have saved many lives, and reduced much suffering. He's now free to campaign for conservatives, too.
(4) Think about it. Trump's always known that shaking up the DOJ leadership would cause ructions in the Senate, and accusations of improper interference in any work that might touch on his conduct before or during office, or those in his admin.

(5) I've been telling y'all since the moment I accepted the Ds had won the House, that the REAL story of the 2018 midterms is the Senate.
The GOP didn't keep the Senate, we INCREASED our majority there.
The confirmation battle for the new AG will be tough, like Sessions' was.

(6) There have been many tough confirmation battles: eg Sessions, Pompeo at State, Haspel, and Kavanaugh. Each time, the GOP came through, including Sen. Collins' phenomenal and historic decision & speech about Kavanaugh. Respect.
(7) Personally, I believe Rod Rosenstein is the most qualified person to be nominated for AG at this time. I've explained why in detail in other threads. Lindsey Graham has been clear he does not want the job, and he will be a fabulous Judicial Committee Chairman.
(8) As always, I'll be fine with whoever Trump nominates for AG. There's so many conservatives well qualified for these roles; he's "spoiled for choice." He has terrific advisers, in & outside WH.

(9) Now that I've read a bit about @MattWhitaker46, I think he could well end up being the nominee, which would be great!
I'd say Whitaker is the AG Trump always wanted, but couldn't nominate first-off. Like he did with Tillerson then (future President) Pompeo at State.

(11) If the change from Sessions to Whitaker really forebode a "constitutional crisis," it would have shown as a brief dip in the DJI. Instead, the DJI had a GREAT day! Now, what does that tell you?
