we need to consider the overall deterioration of the population's mental health.
consider how the cumulative increase in stress, instability, and violence has impacted us collectively as well as individually.
consider how this effects our ability as a social species to engage with one another in a non-reactive way.
consider how the tendency towards reactive behavior has led to defensive response to the point of being incapable of seeing ourselves in each other.
consider this potentially becoming a level of disconnect which not only normalizes harmful behavior, but rewards it in a growing number of areas in our society.
consider how this reduces our shared empathy to a level which does not support our mental well being.
consider this level being the place from which we are shaping our current society.
consider the industries and environmental factors which are benefitted by us remaining in a weakened mental capacity, unable to show up for our own emotional needs.
consider how many areas of our lives would be vastly improved if we invested in the mental health of the population as an integral part of our cultural foundation.
consider how much busyness, comparison, and the continued stigma around vulnerability, take from our ability to nurture a healthy emotional environment for each other.
consider the consequences of not valuing our collective mental health while trying to build the society we are to share.
consider who has taught you that your mental health is not worthy of care unless you are perceived as broken.
consider who has taught us that mental health is solely individual and not also a shared experience.
consider what it would look like to contribute to the mental health environment you share with others.
consider what it would look like to engage more from the standpoint of protecting each others' mental health.
consider what it would look like to be aware of contexts in which your behavior may negatively impact the mental health of the group.
consider how we can challenge ourselves to prioritize the mental health of all of us.
consider a world in which we make our choices from a place of optimal mental health.
consider the step you can take today even if it's only making time in your life to consider these thoughts.
consider any step on behalf of your mental health counts, regardless the way steps are currently quantified, no matter who has taught you the unhealthy side of comparison.
consider that as we share this world literally, we also share it emotionally, and that our collective mental health contributes to us more than the economy.
consider this as merely my thoughts. i know they're not original, but i have come to believe our collective mental health is vital to our society. and may this inspire me to invest more in nurturing the space we share. 💗
