And get away with what! “They had monopolised government jobs, plum postings and other such social benefits.” This is not historical analysis. What monopoly did the Pandits have? A few examples in this thread below.
In the 60s the Pandits faced terrible discrimination. Medical and Engineering students were asked to leave seats they had earned for students of majority community because “aap logon ka to India hai, aap kahin bhi ja sakte hein.”
Some top Pandit doctors in Delhi-NCR today were victims of this discrimination. The renowned ophthalmologist Dr Ashok Raina’s mother had to sell her Dejharu (Mangalsutra) to send him to a medical college outside Kashmir.
