In my time I have learned that no matter how skilled or talented you are, sometimes you just need that bit of help to make progress in your career.
Sometimes it’s an uncle investing in you, or someone giving you a chance or offering you a skill training. Sometimes it’s even as small as someone giving you transport money to that first interview.
In the next few tweets, I will highlight my career journey🙂

I obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, an MSc in International Business with Distinction from Coventry University (UK) and a PhD in Strategic Management from Loughborough University (UK).
I have worked in the Banking and Financial Services Sector and as a Researcher in the Human Resources Department at Brush Turbogenerators (UK).

Currently, I am a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Strategy at one of the prestigious Business Schools in the UK. I also 'run' @BTDTHub.
I am a Member of the Africa Academy of Management, British Academy of Management and an Associate Member of the Chartered Management Institute (UK). I serve as an Advisory Board Member of @FarmRepublic @passnownow @InkMaitres and @CFPNigeria.
I take a genuine interest in the development of young people, teams and organisations. I have mentored well over 1,000 young people from the United Kingdom, Canada, France, Italy, Poland, Spain, Russia, India, China, Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa and other countries.
So the big question is this? How did I achieve all of this at 33? Well, I must say it wasn't because I was super smart or intelligent. Although, I led a class of over 70 during my Master’s Degree and finished with a Distinction. I never see myself as the smartest in the room.
I have been able to achieve all that I have achieved at 33 because other people helped me, gave me an opportunity or recommended me for a position or a job.
Back in Secondary School, I was made the Scorpion House Captain and subsequently the Games Prefect at Command Day Secondary School, Gado Nasko Barracks, Abuja. Someone identified and selected me to take up these leadership positions. This built my confidence as a teenager.
Dr Suresh George, my boss, my mentor, my friend, was kind enough to make me an Associate Lecturer and a module leader for an MSc/MBA module at Coventry University few years ago. This helped me learn the ropes of teaching.
Dr Mumin Abubakre recommended me for a teaching job at another University. I was interviewed and I got the job. I was also given an opportunity by Wayne Pearson the Managing Director of Brush Turbogenerartors to work on an HR Employee Survey Project for 6 months.
My Business Mentor, Shola Ajani, gave me an opportunity to learn the ropes of consultancy and training business under him. It was after I met him and attended structured training sessions under him that I founded @BTDTHub.
Not forgetting my parents who paid for my education, my friends who supported me and loyal family members who have stood by me in the quest for building a fantastic career.
I think we all can do more to help each other get that career leap and that’s why I’m willing to review the CVs of 5 job seekers😊😊😊😊😊
All you have to do is tweet at me with your compelling story, involving someone offering you a helping hand in your quest for a job or career advancement.

Please don't quote, just reply with 1-3 tweets under this thread and I will pick the winners 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊💃🏾
An Update: you can also tweet any compelling story of being helped by anyone. It doesn't have to be related to getting a job or your career.

Again, please don't quote, just reply with 1-3 tweets under this thread and I will pick the winners 😊😊
Dear followers and friends, I've got some great news!!! @LeadwayPensure will be paying @BTDTHub to review the CVs of 10 people. They will also provide training grants for 10 more people. Thank you @LeadwayPensure 👏🏾👏🏾😊#LetMeShowYouTheLeadway
