At @AWSreInvent 2017, Amazon CTO @Werner Vogels took the stage to deliver a very strange keynote. In it, he spoke at length of the future of computing—but his keynote ran long, and he kept going. These are #theWernerProphecies.

His words emphasized that while Amazon itself was a dog company, it would always put customer obsession first, and meet them where they are. #theWernerProphecies
He relayed a vision where no on-premise earthly workload was safe from Cloud. #theWernerProphecies

...but foretold of astounding victory in others. #theWernerProphecies
He acknowledged @awscloud weaknesses, and highlighted steps they would take to overcome them. #theWernerProphecies
At times he took a playful tone to underline AWS's relentless ambition. #theWernerProphecies
...but he would return to cast scorn upon the unbelievers. #theWernerProphecies
He returned to his earlier point about the pace of innovation at @awscloud constantly increasing... #theWernerProphecies
Periodically the great sage expressed sympathy for his audience... #theWernerProphecies
...and an awareness that some of their pain he had helped to create. #theWernerProphecies
