Boitatá is a fire serpent that protects the forests and its animals. Usually inhabits bottom of rivers and get out at night to burn invaders that try to cause harm to the forest. People who look at boitatás turn mad and blind. Also shapeshifts to a burning wooden trunk.
Curupira is a dwarf stature being with bright red hair, and feet turned backwards which make hunters and travelers confused when following footprints. Can create illusions and high pitched sounds that drive people mad. Prey on those who take more than needed from forests.
Cuca is a boogeyman creature that is known to take children that doesn’t sleep at the right time or that misbehaves. It takes the form of a biped alligator with long blond hair.
Boto is a pastel pink dolphin-like creature that takes the form of a young, handsome and charming man at night that charms young ladies driving them to the shore, sometimes drowning them and sometimes getting them pregnant.
Corpo-seco is an Inferius-like beast with rotten flesh and long nails. It’s a rotten person when living that when dead is rejected from heaven, hell and the grounds itself. Roam about bringing ill fate to all that crosses its path by giving a deathly embrace.
Mula-sem-cabeça is a cursed woman that turns into an equine creature with fire leaving its neck/eye socks/nostrils that rides the countryside every Thursday at sundown till Friday sunrise scaring people. It’s believed that teeth and nails natural glow attracts the headless mule.
