Why you need to be concerned as a citizen.

Out of N100 billion that was appropriated for over 2000 #constituencyprojects in 2018 in various communities.
We have observed that about 51% of these projects are with no clear description, hence making monitoring very difficult.
After a series of budgetary analyses, and careful review of documents, @ptcij, through its @UdemeNG project determined that the way these sponsored projects are designed from the budget stage, through implementation, is mired in controversy with many unclear descriptions.

A SOC that deals in Alerts is doomed. If it deals in 'high fidelity detection analytics' + can show ...
1) what's possible to detect that your tech teams + business MDs care about
2) by implication what gaps exist with existing tech (coverage / config)
... then in with a chance.
In practice what that means is defining 5 things that are highly interesting from a blue/red perspective, and where you would tolerate high false positives because if you see 'an activity' it's worth some precious analyst time to investigate ... for 2 reasons ...
1) To rule out that badness is happening
2) To understand if the analytic can be better tuned to remove the trigger to 'go look at this'

Over past 3+ months, I've read 12,000+ pages of internal docs the Trump admin has released for #2020census citizenship question lawsuits. I've been reporting on how @SecretaryRoss' explanation of how this Q ended up on census has suffered blow after blow w each document dump 👇
@SecretaryRoss 2. Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross oversees the census. He's testified in Congress that Justice Department initiated citizenship Q request in Dec 2017 & he was "responding solely" to that. In March, he announced he approved adding question to forms every US household has to answer
@SecretaryRoss 3. After the announcement, I was having trouble keeping up w all the lawsuits that started popping up. Right now, more than 2 dozen states/cities, plus other groups, are suing the Trump admin in 6 lawsuits around the country. These lawsuits required the release of internal docs.

Over the last week or so, enough words have been thrown by "interested" opposition on the rising crude oil prices and why the government is a failure consequently. After listening to a lot of bilge on this, here's my humble attempt to provide clarity. Do read: 1/n
1. We have always had a huge appetite for oil consumption. Of the total oil requirement of the country, about 70%-80% is imported! (graph source: prsindia.org/theprsblog/?ta…) 2/n
2. Of our Total import bill the maximum amount of our oil is imported from Middle-East, the leading nation among that being Saudi Arabia! Most of this import bill from Middle-East is paid in $, hence the rupee's link to oil price. (graph source: pgjonline.com/magazine/2015/…) 3/n

Tutorial on how to make a map using QGIS. I'll turn @SenhorRaposa's 2000 Vermont town data into a map showing by how much Gore outran Senator Jeffords (or vice versa) in every town.
Step 1: Download QGIS for your computer, which is available here:

You'll also need some of Census' Tiger/Line County and County Sub shapefiles. The main download page for those is here:
